Paid Time Off Policies

U.S. hourly employees begin accruing paid time off on their hire date. U.S. exempt (salaried) employees will have Flexible Time Off. Paid time off will not be accrued.

There is no perfect, one-size-fits-all balance between work and home. We provide time off so you can take time to relax, recover from illness, take care of personal and family business, or whatever else you need. Our time off benefits include:

  • Flexible work schedules
  • Paid time off for vacation and illness
  • Time off for jury duty and voting
  • Bereavement leave
  • Maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
  • Refer to your employee handbook for information on eligibility and specific leave policies.

Company Shutdown Week

Benchling offers a company-wide winter holiday shutdown week for employees to prioritize their mental and physical wellness. The Fiscal Year 2026 Holiday Shutdown is December 24 – January 1.
